We’re looking for a Chief Operating Officer to support our executive leadership team.

Position Summary

Coalfire is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our growing team. The COO is a member of the executive leadership team (ELT) and will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to drive the company's growth and success.

What You'll Do

  • Designs and implements new business operations resulting in improved efficiency, simplicity, scalability, and achievement of company goals.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Works closely with the CEO to ensure company priorities, resources, and strategy are executed in an efficient and scalable manner. 
  • Works closely with the executive leadership team to develop, execute, and achieve strategic plans and goals.
  • Provides recommendations and executable plans to monitor and analyze financial performance, making recommendations for improvements and cost savings.
  • Establishes strong relationships with the board of directors, CEO, and other senior leaders (finance, human resources, marketing, sales, technology, business unit leaders).
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective business operations
  • Develop and manage budgets and financial plans reporting out on a regular basis to board of directors, CEO, and other senior leaders
  • Tracks, analyzes and reports on key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
  • Ensures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements while staying on top of industry trends
  • Works closely with Business Unit leaders to ensure revenue, capacity, quality, and gross margin are maximized.
  • Improves forecasting, reporting, visibility, insight, and actions.
  • Partners with appropriate stakeholders and ELT members to ensure staffing levels, utilization, organizational design, and incentives are aligned to company priorities.
  • Optimizes sales support, subject matter expertise, thought leadership from the delivery team.
  • Monitors roadmaps and goals to ensure technology, tools, and software is developed to improve delivery efficiency, scale, and customer satisfaction
  • Optimizes the “book to bill” process including simplifying practice areas, sales processes, onboarding, staffing, and project execution.
  • Ensures quality products and services are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Escalates client and project issues to management in a timely manner to inform and engage the necessary resources to address the issue
  • Influences and collaborates with project managers, quality management, sales and other delivery team members to drive customer satisfaction and meet project deliverables.

What You'll Bring

  • Significant experience as Chief Operating Officer in a technology enabled consulting company in companies with revenues from $100M - $1B.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role in a consulting or related field
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of successfully managing budgets and financial plans
  • Experience in cybersecurity including compliance frameworks (PCI, HITRUST, FedRAMP, SOC, ICO), penetration testing, and cyber risk advisory programs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior management, board of directors, CEO, and other senior leaders.
  • Experience in QBRs, establishing KPIs, and automating reporting and forecasting.
  • Experience with Private Equity and taking companies through investments and transactions.
  • M&A experience.

At Coalfire, equal opportunity and pay equity is integral to the way we do business. A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role is $225,000 to $325,000 based on national salary averages. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certifications and other factors. You may also be eligible to participate in annual incentive, commission, and/or recognition programs.
