Access Services is looking to welcome a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to their executive leadership team. For 45 years, Access Services has been challenging the status quo and filling the gaps for those in our community who are often overlooked. Access Services is a highly respected human services nonprofit organization working in behavioral health, child and family services, and intellectual disability services. Access Services provides care in 14 counties across eastern Pennsylvania. We believe strongly that people have the strength to heal and grow when provided with the support they need.

Serving as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, it is essential that the Chief Financial Officer’s leadership and work embody Access’ core values of being person centered, passionate for service, Innovative, Collaborative, and Authentic.

We are looking for a visionary leader with advanced experience and knowledge of financial systems and practices. The right candidate will also have a passion for leading teams and developing individuals to their full potential, an ability to work collaboratively with leaders across the organization to develop tools and systems with a growth mindset, excellent ability to communicate, navigate and lead in change management, and superior relationship building and negotiation skills.


The Chief Financial Officer will hold responsibility for all financial operations at Access Services including:

  • Establishing strategic goals and direction
  • Ongoing functions of the finance department include accounting, billing, reconciling, developing and tracking budgets, managing finance personnel, and ensuring legal compliance for all funders, payers, and government requirements
  • Forecasting for future business growth
  • Supporting organizational projects (individual projects, grant applications and reporting, capital improvements, etc.) in projections and budget development
  • Overseeing the internal control process
  • Financial reporting to the board and organizational leadership
  • Supervising the annual fiscal audit process
  • Developing policy
  • Overseeing organizational and departmental/programmatic budgets and projections

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge and leadership in nonprofit/human services, preferably behavioral health and/or intellectual disabilities
  • Experience with value-based care / value-based contracts, and the negotiation of such
  • High emotional intelligence exhibited through relationships and the ability to solve complex problems across the organization alongside program and operational leaders
  • Industry knowledge and an ability to learn and comprehend multiple licensing and regulations of industry related to Access Services' programs and contracts
  • Strong leadership skills in developing and executing a department vision that correlates with the broader agency mission and vision by empowering and equipping staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and engage with a diverse range of individuals including staff, business associates, government officials and the general public
  • Advanced technical skills; understands the importance of technology in the field of human services

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics required. Master’s degree preferred.

Certification: Preferred CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant)

Experience: Ten or more (10+) years of experience in financial roles required. Five or more (5+) years of experience in leadership capacity required. Excellent written, oral, and client-faced communication skills. Ability to develop and nurture external customer relationships. Budget focused mindset. Proven success in leading business growth and recognition from peers.

Travel Requirements: The CFO should be willing to be onsite at Access Services office locations outside their home office as necessary. Access Services has offices located across eastern Pennsylvania. Minimal travel involved outside of Pennsylvania.

Compensation and work details:

  • The annual salary is based on education and experience.
  • This role is based out of our Fort Washington office. Candidates with the ability to regularly commute to Fort Washington are preferred. If the candidate is not local to Fort Washington, the ability to travel to Fort Washington regularly is required.
