CFO at LawnStarter in Austin, Texas will report to LawnStarter’s Chief Executive Officer, and will direct and coordinate the Company’s financial and budget activities to fund operations and increase efficiency. As a key player in the Company's future growth potential, CFO will also use scenario modeling to inform large scale strategy decisions, recommend tweaks on pricing, and understand the intricacies of LawnStarter’s marketplace.
More specifically, the duties of CFO will include:
- Driving business growth while maintaining financial responsibility;
- Analyzing LawnStarter’s operations to evaluate its financial performance and determine areas of potential cost reduction and operational improvement or efficiencies;
- Leading accounting and financial audits;
- Leading and managing forecasting and budgeting process;
- Managing the equity management platform with respect to the company’s investor ownership, real-time capitalization data, and additional employee grants and funding;
- Leading creation of monthly financial materials and quarterly Board materials;
- Managing relationships with Board of Directors and investors;
- Leading partnership, investment, acquisition, and fundraising initiatives; being a leader across the table and helping to set strategic direction;
- Structuring and negotiating debt facilities (such as terms loans and lines of credit), and managing LawnStarter’s relationships with financial institutions and creditors;
- Managing and overseeing LawnStarter’s Human Resources function (onboarding, benefits, payroll, etc.); and
- Managing marketplace dynamics to ensure financial optimization.
Requirements
Min requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance, or its foreign equivalent, PLUS Five (5) years of accounting or finance experience as CFO, Head or VP of Finance, Financial Controller, Financial Analyst, or similar role;
AND (or experience must include):
- At least 2 years of relevant experience working at a high-growth (at least 30% growth year over year) technology company;
- Experience completing financial audits for early-stage and/or growth stage companies;
- Experience implementing equity management platforms (i.e. Carta);
- Experience managing and building finance, accounting, and human resource teams;
- Experience managing valuation and financial due diligence process (both buy and sell-side);
- Experience leading investor relations initiatives and fundraising;
- Experience negotiating and implementing a debt facility;
- Experience managing a company through a liquidity event (acquisition or public offering);
- Strong understanding of US GAAP;
- Proficiency in Quickbooks, Tableau, PowerPoint and Excel; and
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
