The role: Chief Financial Officer

We are looking for an experienced and exceptional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our client’s leadership team. With the company currently raising Series B funding, the successful candidate will lead on this and be used to working in a high-growth business.

Based in London, the CFO will be working closely with the CEO and will be responsible for the company’s financial vision. The ideal candidate will be both a financial strategist and a hands-on leader able to work with all areas of the business to ensure success.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and driving the company’s financial performance
  • Working with the CEO to continually develop financial plans and strategies
  • Adopting a hands-on approach to actively supporting business growth
  • Managing trusted relationships with various stakeholders from investors to CEOs
  • Performing risk management by analysing the organisation’s liabilities and investments
  • Deciding on investment strategies by considering cash and liquidity risks
  • Leading the organisation’s fundraising plans and capital structure
  • Ensuring cash flow is appropriate for the organisation’s operations
  • Preparing reliable current and forecasting reports
  • Ensuring compliance with the law and company’s policies

Requirements

  • Proven experience as CFO or in another senior managerial role
  • Tech sector experience preferred (ideally EdTech)
  • Able to navigate the challenges of a high-growth / scale-up organisation
  • In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Familiarity with corporate law and management best practice
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • An analytical thinker, comfortable with numbers and measures of performance
