The Role

Our team is looking for an experienced and technically minded CFO for the Vietnam region to help drive the Xendit Vietnam entities to comply under the Xendit Group financial structure and be consolidated under US GAAP and pass audits with EY.

This role will have many responsibilities, such as being responsible for day-to-day accounting, transaction monitoring and control, managing the finance team in Vietnam and closely working with the Xendit Group Finance team in Singapore as well as reporting the financials of the company to the Head of Global Finance for roll up for group reporting for management and investors.

The person will also be responsible for ensuring that all cash movements are tracked and monitored, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and driving the closing, reporting, and other finance-related projects such as converting the company to US GAAP for group audit purposes along with external consultants.

Additional responsibilities will include ensuring tax compliance and regulatory reporting is completed in a timely manner, and being the main point of contact with the Head of Global Finance for the Xendit Group in relation to Xendit Vietnam.

Outcomes

  • Accounting Knowledge and Analysis
    • Oversee the conversion of accounting systems to NetSuite system accounting records
    • Drive initiatives on setting up SOPs and Policies to support accounting records for audit and compliance and ensure best practice
    • Ensure that all transactions are properly supported
    • Ensure cash movements are accounted for correctly from all methods; internal, external and holding company cash injections including transfer pricing and arms length transactions plus ensuring corporate documentation is in place
    • Other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned
  • Reconciliation
    • Oversee reconciliation review and validation of cost and revenue related to the reconciliation of the company transactions, either operational or customer related
    • Ensure support of intercompany reconciliations and investigate past issues, if necessary
    • Ensure customer balances tie back to the customer dashboard in preparation for year end audit
  • Audit and Tax Filing Support
    • Oversee the local tax function, ensuring the region produces the tax schedule and report preparation for filing
    • Oversee local audits by ensuring schedule preparation and supporting documents for sample testing with the local team and working with the Head of Audit for Group audit
    • Familiar with tax and bank requirements for cross-border settlement of related party transactions
  • Forecasting and Budgeting
    • Manage the Vietnam regions production of the yearly forecast and budget
    • Help drive along with the Group FP&A team the reporting of the regions operating metrics
  • Team Management
    • Lead the Accounting and Finance teams to ensure excellence in day-to-day service delivery and future needs
    • Mentoring and scaling up team members and setting goals for the team to aim for future professional development
    • Ability to work on integration projects and immerse into the Xendit financial way of things
    • Capable of ensuring implementation of SOPs across groups to ensure consistent accounting treatment across the company
    • Liaise daily with the relevant Xendit groups
    • Help lead the team to success

Experience

  • You have 10+ years of experience with 5+ years in a senior role, preferably at C-Level
  • Have managed teams in the past and can work with teams in other countries, providing leadership to your subordinates
  • You are well versed in Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS)
  • CPA is preferred but not required if the candidate has relevant experience
  • Have experience in fast-paced industries
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of US GAAP
