Overview:
Our Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep our medical facility running smoothly. Our ideal Medical Assistant is a team player who is passionate about patient care and is able to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records
- Administer oral and injectable medications
- Perform urine pregnancy tests
- Perform blood glucose screening
- Prepare operating room(s) and assist our nurses and physicians with medical procedures, recovery and other patient care.
- Transport equipment and supplies to and from areas as needed.
- Clean, sterilize and store instruments, equipment.
- Assist where indicated in the clean-up of the operating room after the surgical procedure.
- Assist with phone calls
- Escort the patient to their car to ensure safe discharge.
- Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
- Unpack and put away shipments/supplies
- Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Directly reports to the Regional Nurse.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- Medical Assistant Certification
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting
