Overview:

Our Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep our medical facility running smoothly. Our ideal Medical Assistant is a team player who is passionate about patient care and is able to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced environment. This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results and other information for medical records 
  • Administer oral and injectable medications
  • Perform urine pregnancy tests
  • Perform blood glucose screening
  • Prepare operating room(s) and assist our nurses and physicians with medical procedures, recovery and other patient care.
  • Transport equipment and supplies to and from areas as needed.
  • Clean, sterilize and store instruments, equipment.
  • Assist where indicated in the clean-up of the operating room after the surgical procedure.
  • Assist with phone calls
  • Escort the patient to their car to ensure safe discharge.
  • Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
  • Unpack and put away shipments/supplies
  • Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Directly reports to the Regional Nurse.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Medical Assistant Certification 
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum one year experience in a healthcare setting
