Business Controller (Konstanz or remote)

We are looking for the right people to join our well-funded, fast-growing open-source software company and to help us continue to build exciting technology that makes our users happy. Right now, we look for the right Business Controller to join our Finance team. Our Finance team is located in Konstanz and Zürich and ideally, we would like to maintain this – to enable frequent in-person meetings of the entire team. If you work remotely, periodic travels to Konstanz and/or Zürich are required.*

Who you are

• You have about 2-4 years of experience as a controller working in an international environment and ideally in an IT company.

• You have excellent Excel and good PowerPoint skills. You know how to make the information presentable.
• You are very result focused and deliver highly accurate results on time, always keeping in mind what use your internal customer will make of the information.
• You speak English and German fluently.
• You are a good business partner, sometimes working closely with colleagues from other functions and helping them get the information needed as well as making recommendations for improvements in their decision-making. And you are eager to learn – about the (software) business, our market, processes, new tools, and much more. And interested not only in financial but also commercial aspects.

That’s the job

In this position, you will be working closely with the VP of Finance performing various analyses and creating presentations for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. board presentations).

You will be maintaining and improving our KPI reports and working on our business model, to understand and forecast our financial performance. You will be analyzing for instance Sales & Marketing initiatives & performance to identify good and bad investments. This will enable you to understand a high-growth software business (both SaaS as well as on-premise) inside out.

You will be highly involved in the annual budgeting process and quarterly forecasts as well as in the mid-term planning. International collaboration with colleagues from other nationalities is part of your daily job.
