GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the BH Training Manager, the BH Training Coordinator is responsible for clinical guidance, training, and support to Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHP) and Licensed Practitioners of the Healing Arts (LPHAs) upon hire as well as ongoing training and support for tenured staff. The BH Training Coordinator is responsible for facilitating structured individual and/or group training activities to assure services and documentation meet or exceed federal, state, and local requirements as well as equip QMHP/LMHA staff with information, materials, and community resources necessary to provide quality, person centered support to individuals served. Other duties as assigned to promote quality services and support of staff.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field from a four-year university.
  • Bachelor’s degree must meet Texas Administrative Code requirements for a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Clinical Services (QMHP-CS).
  • Has at least two years clinical experience in a community mental health setting providing services to those with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field preferred.
  • Texas Licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) with good standing preferred.
  • Has at least one year experience in program training, supervision, and/or support preferred.

ESSENTIAL TASKS & STANDARDS

  • Implement necessary Onboarding training for the BH Division.
  • Maintains ongoing training.
  • Works actively as a part of the BH Training Division to ensure the success and the achievement of the Center’s overall goals.
  • Understands and implements trauma informed care practices.
  • Demonstrates effective problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork/Cooperation
  • Appropriate Use of LifePath Systems Equipment and Materials

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge and application of Texas Administrative Code, UM Guidelines, Medicaid Billing Rules, CCBHC model of care, HIPAA, and federal and state standards.
  • Demonstrate skill in continually adapting trainings based on a variety of learning methodologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of the needs and characteristics associated those with severe mental illness, substance use related disorders, and/or severe emotional disturbance.
  • Extensive knowledge of person and family centered recovery with ability to model and implement person driven care with a culturally sensitive demeanor and trauma informed presence
  • Ability to teach, organize, and effectively implement training materials.
  • Ability to cope with and assist others in handling frustration and to be flexible in meeting organizational workload demands.
  • Ability to work independently, organize work efficiently, and to prioritize workload demands.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to provide and model service delivery with individuals receiving services when necessary.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple programs to provide training and support as needed, such as becoming certified in outside trainings such as ASIST, MHFA, and YMHFA.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS

  • Must have valid Texas Driver License and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be able to complete all LifePath Systems training.
  • Must be able to provide at least 3 professional or educational references. 

BENEFITS

Salary Range: $45,000 per year              

Shift Hours: M-F 8-5pm (Must be flexible in schedule to meet the growing training needs of the BH Division, including training responsibilities in the evenings and on weekends.)
