The Role

The Backend Engineer will be GoodTime’s will work directly with the Head of Engineering, your main focus will be building integrations with third-party systems and  work on GoodTime's customer facing APIs. This means contributing to the product roadmap by working with our product and engineering teams in the US and Brazil. 

This role might be for you if you have a technical background in engineering frameworks such as typescript and are extremely flexible in your approach to engineering. For us, fast is better than perfect. We iterate constantly and fail fast, so we need that to resonate with you! 

Responsibilities:

• Build integrations with third-party systems, work on GoodTime's customer facing APIs
• Build highly scalable, distributed systems efficiently using open source tools
• Work with languages, technologies, and platforms such as Typescript, Redis, Postgres, AWS

Must have: 

• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent experience in the space
• 4+ years of  experience in software development
• Solid experience with designing a REST API
• Experience building integrations with another system using APIs
• 2+ years experience in either Javascript, Typescript, Node.js
• Experience with SQL databases
• You are comfortable learning new technologies and systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills

Nice to have: 

• Experience with integrating with Applicant Tracking Systems
• Experience in integrating with third-party systems such as Google Calendar, Office 365, Zoom, etc
• Familiarity with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure
• You have gone through a rapid growth in your company (from 10 to 100s of engineers)
