We are seeking a highly motivated and creative biochemist with proficient experience in enzyme assays to join the Platform Biology group at Kymera Therapeutics. This Associate Scientistwill develop various biochemical assays to evaluate the activity of novel E3 ligases; and collaborate cross-functionally with the scientists from the computational biology, lead discovery, and proteomics group to identify and validate new E3 ligases suitable for targeted protein degradation. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop and conduct biochemical, biophysical and cell-based assays to support E3 ligase hit finding, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization campaigns.
  • Conduct experiments to elucidate mechanisms of action for new E3 ligands and their corresponding degraders.
  • Execute exploratory efforts to integrate emerging technologies/assays into internal assay capabilities.
  • Maintain good written records of laboratory procedures and communicate research findings in cross-functional project team meetings.
  • Support and maintain efficient lab operations for the Platform Biology group.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Must have a master’s degree in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Biophysics, or related discipline and 3 years of experience with enzymatic assay development. Experience must include the following:

  • Enzymatic assay development with cell lysates and purified proteins
  • Hands-on experience in biochemical methods, including SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, and immunoprecipitation
  • Biochemical assays, including in CRISPR KO/KI, siRNA KO/KI, iPSC culture and differentiating iPSCs into different Cell type
  • Mammalian cell culture and basic cell biology techniques, including transfections
  • Executing experiments, analyzing, and interpreting results with minimal supervision

 

We will alternatively accept a bachelor’s degree and 6 years of stated experience.
