The Associate will be responsible for a new reinsurer, coordinating accounting and finance support in a larger matrix organization. This position will be based in our Hamilton, Bermuda office and report to the Bermuda Controller. The Associate will prepare and provide quality assurance to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to senior management and investors. The Associate will assist the Bermuda entities’ Controller in various business initiatives including automation projects, process improvements, and identifying opportunities to enhance investor level reporting.

In addition to possessing the specific qualifications cited below, all candidates must work well within a complex, fast-paced, fluid environment, and possess a proven ability to design and lead operational and accounting change. All candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as strong organizational and interpersonal skills. This role will have significant contact and visibility with senior executives of the Institutional business and the Bermuda reinsurance and corporate entities.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and coordination across source functions for the accounting close, remaining engaged in and providing control reviews of financial results as they emerge to ensure the accuracy of the legal entity results developed
  • Synthesize and summarize detailed financial data to create meaningful, high-level, result oriented analysis used for management and investor reporting
  • Monitor and forecast both capital and liquidity for entities inclusive of proforma impact of potential transactions and benchmarking of performance to proforma.
  • Oversee investor level reporting as well various fund administration duties (capital calls etc.)
  • Expand availability of monthly information and identify and champion initiatives to accelerate availability of business information
  • Assist with delivering regulatory reporting on a US GAAP, US Statutory, Bermuda Statutory and Bermuda Economic balance sheet bases for the client legal entity.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and/or a minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience. Advanced degree and CPA/CMA professional credentials are strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of related accounting and reporting experience, preferably with a (re)insurer. Actuarial or Investment experience a plus
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Robust knowledge of Bermuda Economic Balance Sheet and BSCR and US GAAP accounting a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in matrix organizations and manage competing priorities
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating insightful, actionable reporting and analyses

Various jurisdictions have passed pay transparency laws that require companies provide salary ranges for any positions for which they are accepting applications.

Global Atlantic’s base salary range is determined through an analysis of similar positions in the external labor market. The annual base salary range provided in this posting for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country.  Base pay is just one component of Global Atlantic’s total compensation package for employees and at times we hire outside the boundaries of the salary range. Other rewards may include annual cash bonuses, long-term incentives (equity), generous benefits (including immediate vesting on employee contributions to a 401(k), as well as a company match on your contributions), and sales incentives.  Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Compensation for our more senior positions have a larger component of short-term cash bonus and long-term incentives.  The base salary range for this role is $85,334 to $162,540.
