About the Role  

Ogilvy New York is searching for an Associate Director, Data & Analytics - someone who loves connecting social research and data with business results, to help steer the direction for our clients. The ideal candidate loves using numbers and data to tell stories and provide actionable recommendations. 

What You’ll Do 

  • Effectively work within account and strategy teams to translate data into fast, smart creative or media opportunities.
  • Be able to interpret business challenges and recommend appropriate analysis techniques.
  • Be able to work through various types of analysis, bringing in the right resources and data for support.
  • Builds complex measurement and KPI frameworks, customizing for each client and project.
  • Build learning agendas, test and learn strategies.
  • Have an expert understanding of attribution/conversion measurement.
  • Proven ability to partner with creatives and media teams for smarter output.
  • Be the analytics lead on a client account and identify new thinking and approaches based on business needs.
  • Able to partner with digital and social strategists to develop segmentation approaches.
  • Support technical implementation of data products in collaboration with Media & Strategy Teams. 
  • Analyze large, complex, and often unstructured datasets to generate actionable insights. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help guide, interpret and visualize complex data sets.
  • Ability to storytell with data and produce analytics insights from social listening & using APIs to aggregate data. 
  • Retrieve, collect, & clean raw research data and synthesize it into usable forms for strategy & media teams to utilize (raw data from social media channels and social listening tools, tying analysis and insights back to business results). 
  • Manage multiple client business units and correctly prioritize and deprioritize work on scale & effectively communicating with larger teams.

 

What You’ll Need  

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 6+ years of professional experience extracting insights from large, technical data sets, and communicating recommendations to varied audiences including high-level management/academics. 
  • Proven stakeholder management experience - including managing multiple cross-functional partners simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience thinking strategically about complex issues, leading to thoughtful recommendations and action plans.  
  • Experience with visualizing data (Tableau, Power BI, Google Data Studio, Sprinklr)  

   Advanced Qualifications  

  • 1+ years of practical experience querying SQL databases.   
  • 1+ years of practical experience using data analytic software such as Python or R.
  • 1+ years of experience sourcing data from APIs.
  • Basic understanding of advanced analytics techniques such as linear models, time series analysis/forecasting, classification. 
  • Basic understanding of machine learning techniques such as text-based analysis (NLP), supervised and unsupervised models such as KNN, K-means, random forests, GPT, etc.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Pay Range
$60,000$139,949 USD
