Why does this role exist?

Reporting to the Sr. Training & Development Manager, the Assistant Training Manager will provide support to our Dedicated and Operations teams by internally managing the Learning Team's operations and activities, ranging from project planning and content development for courses geared towards developing qualified Magic Assistants, to a thorough and accurate analysis of success metrics leading to iterations that will effectively increase assistants' work quality and retention as well as effectively expand their skill set.

The impact you'll make:

1. Team Management

  • Oversee daily activities by direct reports ensuring efficiency and timeliness for all tasks assigned.
  • Forge good working relationships with direct reports and effectively address their concerns in a timely manner.
  • Determine the need for, recruit, and select Instructional Designers and/or Training Coordinators to ensure sufficient coverage for their corresponding regular duties.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and enforce sanctions on direct reports regularly and/or as needed.

2. Project/Program Management

  • Work with the Training & Development Manager in conducting timely needs analyses to determine what kind of material needs to be developed.
  • Create clear, specific, and reasonable plans and timelines for projects, allocate resources, determine/assess risks, and create contingency plans.
  • Oversee the progress of all projects assigned to the Learning Team.
  • Devise engagement programs for learners and oversee implementation and delivery with the goal of increasing interest and completion.
  • Determine the need for, recruit, and select Subject Matter Experts to work with Instructional Designers in order to create more advanced content.
  • Oversee course/content development, and ensure that timelines are met and deliverables are beyond satisfactory.
  • Review project deliverables, plan out/provide feedback for iterations, and secure approval from stakeholders.

3. Data Analysis

  • Analyze and interpret data, determine/oversee the progress of project/program success metrics, and come up with the next actions to improve them.

4. Coordination and Miscellaneous

  • Clearly and effectively communicate progress for projects to concerned parties and stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with other teams and stakeholders as needed, especially when it directly affects or concerns internal operations or projects and programs assigned to the team.
  • Maintain a good feedback loop with learners, concerned teams, and stakeholders regarding rolled-out projects and programs to consider for iterations and improvements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

5. Administrative Tasks

  • Ensure project/program documentation is accurately recorded and maintained in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in classic operations, either as a freelancer or full-time employee with proven success in this area.
  • Must have experience training in either a classroom or remote set-up.
  • 1-2 years of experience in team/people management with proven success in this area.
  • 1 year of experience in project management with proven success in this area.
  • Experience in training, e-learning, or at the very least being able to understand people’s motivations and thought processes.
  • Experience working for a foreign startup, or at the very least, a good understanding of US culture and business practices.
  • Experience/background in instructional design, or at least an eye for good/effective design and layout.
  • Experience in problem-solving and conflict resolution with proven success in this area


Your superpowers are:

  • Solid understanding of different training/learning styles for different types of learners while being able to able to understand and break down/simplify complex concepts and adjust their language/approach depending on the audience.
  • Proficient and extremely comfortable working with data (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, HubSpot, Airtable)
  • Knowledge of/experience working with any Learning Management System (LMS).
  • C1-C2 English Proficiency both in oral and written.
  • Highly organized, superior attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, strong data analysis skills
  • Proven success working with and meeting deadlines for projects with short to long timelines
