RESPONSIBILITIES

The Agile coach provides agile coaching to programs, teams, and individuals on various aspects of the product development and delivery process, leveraging Scrum, lean, Kanban, SAFe, and DevOps principles and practices.

Reporting to the Director of Technology Operations, the Agile Coach provides coaching, mentoring, and advising to teams applying Agile values, principles, frameworks, and approaches. They will also guide teams in Agile release planning, kickoff, and sprint planning events. This role would ensure teams are creating, managing, and using product backlogs, identifying project interdependencies, and delivering value using doneness and acceptance criteria.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

This role requires:

  • Candidates must live in the United States.
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Education, Business, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or other relevant degrees; or a combination of education and relevant experience,
  • 2+ year’s experience as Scrum Master or Agile Coach; i.e. hands-on experience applying lean/Agile methodologies within infrastructure, hardware, and operational environments
  • 2 years of experience assessing team performance
  • At least 3 year’s experience in Agile Project Management
  • Hands-on experience using various Agile Tools
  • Help teams implement Agile development approaches
  • Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, CSPO, CSP, PSM, PSPO)
  • Proven ability to facilitate and lead multiple teams in Agile, Lean, and SCRUM Methodologies.
  • Provide program, team, and individual coaching on Agile practices, principles, roles, artifacts, and mechanics.
  • Leading teams as they learn and adopt Agile practices by supporting them through coaching, mentoring, facilitating, and teaching.
  • Help write and implement new methodologies and development practices.
  • Collect feedback from the development team and continuously improve processes and practices
  • Act as an Agile Coach, concentrating on developing execution leaders (RTE and Scrum Masters) and closely partnering with the Product Owner, Product Manager, and Technology Delivery Owner to guide one agile release train.
  • Demonstrate initiative by anticipating risks, issues, and opportunities, and remediating and/or escalating them accordingly.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Education, Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Technical, Information Systems, MBA, Project Management, Military.
  • PMI-ACP certification.
  • Experiencing implementing SAFe in an organization not using Agile at the executive/strategic level.
  • Experience with administration of a modern project management technology suite, including certifications with Atlassian or Salesforce platforms.
  • Perform similar activities where Agile support is needed for initiatives not using Scrum
  • Skilled in advocating the Agile mindset, developing use cases for adoption, and coaching the implementation of evidence-driven best practices.
  • A passion for higher education is a plus.
