EdFarm | PROPEL Overview
EdFarm was launched in February 2020 in Birmingham, AL to create a suite of signature programs designed to engage students, educators, and adult learners in innovative digital skills experiences that better prepare them for the 21st-century workforce. In February 2021, EdFarm, in partnership with Apple and Southern, announced plans to launch the Propel Center, a physical and virtual hub based in Atlanta, GA that will partner with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to provide powerful learning experiences for HBCU students and staff and increase the pool of HBCU graduates entering and leading the innovation economy.
The Innovation and Design Team is seeking an Administrative Assistant to support the SVP and day-to-day operations of the department. This is a temporary six-month engagement with the opportunity to convert to a permanent role. The pay rate for the role is between $25 - $35 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Manage SVP's complex calendar to ensure accurate scheduling and time management to promote productivity
- Manage all forms of daily correspondence to ensure professional, accurate, and timely responses
- Plan and book travel itineraries for all members of the Team
- Complete, submit, and track expense reports; reconcile credit card charges
- Draft emails, google docs, and/or google sheets
- Complete a broad range of administrative tasks and ad hoc projects
- Gracefully adjust to frequent changes within a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with a flexible, adaptive mindset
- Build strong, productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders: students, corporate partners, faculty, etc...
- Maintain utmost care and professionalism on confidential business and personal matters
- Plan and execute team meetings, off-sites, and other functions, including ordering food, booking restaurants, securing IT/AV support, ensuring smooth logistical execution, handling document needs, and following up on outstanding items
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, ideally for a fast-paced, growing organization
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, even while multitasking
- Able to work well under tight deadlines and respond to rapidly changing demands
- Excellent judgment and ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential material
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Highly resourceful and flexible team player who can problem-solve independently
- Tech savvy and a quick learner; highly proficient in using Google Suite, Excel, Keynote, Slack, and other applications
