Lab Summary:

MPS Health Lab is the U.S. branch of the Samsung Global Health Services business. We have product management, UX, user research, data scientists, and software engineering co-located to create the future of wellness and clinical care using user-centric design thinking and agile designer-developer workflow. 

Position Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and hard-working android engineer who is interested in taking concepts through various stages of prototyping with increasing levels of fidelity, making our experiences real and exposing them to users to make them great.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design, develop, unit test and debug product features and prototype software
  • Troubleshoot issues raised from internal testing or production escalations
  • Implement test framework and test cases for automation
  • Collaborate with project team on various tasks

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor or M.Sc. or PhD student in Computer Science
  • Strong programming skills in Kotlin/Java and Android
  • Experience with native Android application development in Kotlin – with a strong focus on native Android UI and front-end experience
  • Experience with high-performance UI development, including custom Android controls and UI elements
  • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
  • Strong understanding of physics and mathematics as applied to development of UI transitions, animations, image processing etc.
  • System development skills (sensors, media, algorithms, threading, memory management, sync, networking, power)
  • Experience with Machine Learning projects with proven results
  • Hands-on experience with Android Studio, Gradle
  • Hands-on experience with Github, Confluence, Jira
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A strong collaborator who can work across multi-disciplinary teams

Our total rewards programs are designed to motivate and engage exceptional talent. The hourly pay rate range for roles at this level is $36 and $63 but may be higher or lower in other states due to geographic differentials in the labor market. Within the hourly pay rate range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training.

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
