1871 seeks a professionally driven, creative, and highly motivated digital marketing intern to support its web content and delivery strategy.

This role will assist the Marketing Director in brainstorming and editing a wide range of 1871 web content, including for social media, blog features, as well as:

  • Web Metrics: Assist in setting goals and metrics for tracking the effectiveness of 1871’s SEO efforts on organic web traffic
  • Optimize Website: Optimize the Website using SEO best practices (graphics, copy, metadata, etc.)
  • Web updates as needed: URL Maintenance, manage edits and updates to web pages and content to improve searchability
  • Create Best Practice Deck/Documentation: Collaborate in Creating an 1871 Best Practice Deck for the Website (including graphic sizes, copy, metadata, and other assets needed for each page type).

Requirements

  • Understanding of website structure, menus, navigation
  • Knowledgeable about SEO and web best practices and management,
  • Proficient understanding of WordPress or other website editing software
  • Basic knowledge of Google Analytics (or highly motivated to learn)
  • Basic computer processing skills, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Self-starter and ability to work autonomously and in cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Easily able to work on and hop between multiple projects seamlessly
  • Is an incredible communicator and has an honest and conscious approach to their professional life

Time: Monday - Thursday, 10 am-4 pm (hours and time commitment may be flexible if agreed upon by the supervisor and the internship candidate before the start of the internship)

This internship is from June 5 to August 11, 2023, and is in-person. The candidate must live in the Chicagoland area.
